BioEvy. VISITOR FROM NERE. Evy just wants to be human. Not in that ‘real boy’ Pinocchio way, although he was kind of cute, she thinks she's cuter. Not in the blood and plasma way – she likes her fake tissue just fine. Her hair grows; her toenails grow just like theirs. She processes facts and images just as well, if not better than their brains do – more accurately. She doesn’t want the consumption and waste parts, or the procreation – all of the mess, the fuss and the gross factor. Evy wants the point to being human – the gooey center goodness that comes guaranteed in every newborn. Ever since she was brought online, she can remember feeling empty; a part of her is missing. She paints well and she creates beautiful music, but it’s manufactured art. Her feelings aren’t real feelings and so her art means nothing to her. Evy was born in a lab on a world in an alternate dimension called Nere in Earth year 1976. She was one of the first AAIU's (Advanced Artificial Intelligence Unit) and was developed for assistance in a laboratory. The man she assisted improved her system to include an emotional cortex advanced enough to mimic human emotions. Not long after, he is killed and takes his genius with him, resulting in Evy being the only evidence of his improvements, and therefore very valuable to the people that want her. While avoiding capture, she is accidentally transported to a New York City university on Earth. She makes her life over again, getting a job assisting in teaching again at NYU where eventually the man who wants her emotions cortex catches up with her. She's reprogrammed after being reverse-engineered in order to retrieve the cortex and when the company that pulled her apart doesn't input correct coding to bypass her security system, an auto-defense in place wipes her clean, resetting her to factory output and erasing her memories and the ability to feel like a human. She recovers her original programming and remnants of the modifications, resulting in faulty mimicry at times. In other words? She may not respond in the emotionally proper way to a situation, and may be eerily cheerful. Disclaimer: Kerry Washington belongs to herself.
